Mon- Sun 5pm to close – but no one really knows

When in old town, we usually end up at this bar and are always prepared to drink.  Besides people watching and consuming alcoholic beverages, there isn't much else to this bar.  It is a no frills kind of place that exhibits little east coast flare, unless you stumble upon the owner. He’s a friendly guy who is more than willing to have a drink with you . His concoctions usually include tequila - since that’s what he loves ( you have been warned).

Atmosphere:  This bar is dim by day and very dark by night. It is a small place with very little seating unless you find an empty stool at the bar. There is bench seating along the east side wall, but no real tables, only tall cocktail stands and the walls are lined with pictures of East Coast city scapes. You will find a mixed crowd on any given night, but always an even balance of genres. There are two very clean bathrooms located in the back but be warned -they are unisex. There is usually good music playing via DJ or band and people dancing throughout.

Service:  Mostly bar service is provided, but you will occasionally see a cocktail waitress on patrol.  The bartenders all know their “stuff” and stay on top of their job. Occasionally the bar gets crowded and it might take a minute or two longer to get a drink, but the owner seems ever ready to pitch in.

Drinks:  This bar is equipped with the usual selection of local craft and domestic brews at a little lower price than other old town bars. In addition to brew, it is a fully stocked bar. East Coast is also the home of the “Bombito” which is a smaller version of a Jager (jagermeister) Bomb poured into an over-sized shot glass with only a little bit of Red Bull.

Food:  No menu. No food. No kitchen. Who needs it? This place is strictly a watering hole.

Amenities:  Jukebox, small patio area out front, pool table, bubble hockey, small stage.

Parking:  Parking is available on the street in old town where ever you can find it.

The Buzz:  Comedy on Monday nights, live music and/or Dj on Tuesdays.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place one night while out with friends. This is the perfect place to just chill out, have a beer and play darts or pool while listening to the jukebox.  The patrons posted up where of a mixed variety and all very friendly. 

Atmosphere:  This place is everything you expect from a typical dive bar , yet very clean. It is set up in a strip mall and has a store front entry. Once inside the long bar is on the northern wall with the south side of the bar is filled with pool tables, video game machines and darts. There are recliner couches along the front of the bar, directly under the windows and also towards the back, for those who want to lounge around. There is a jukebox on the back wall that played a lot of country music but offered some rock classics. There is ample seating at the bar and the few high top tables throughout the place.The crowd was very diverse with a few college guys, couples and old guys watching the TV;s around the bar and playing pool. The walls and ceilings are painted in dark colors and decorated with typical beer signs and plaques.

Service:  We only noticed one person working behind the bar and she seemed to have it covered. She was friendly, engaging and knew her liquor.

Drinks:  West End Pub has an average selection of domestics and craft beers.  There is a dry erase board behind the bar listing specials mostly some shots and concoctions we had never heard of, although they sounded good.  We didn't try any of the specialty shots because the bottle of Black Velvet behind the bar was just too enticing and comical. we had to keep it real and toss one back only to then see the bottle of Yukon Jack.  The bar is stocked with  all the usual liquors nothing super high end. 

Food:  There is a small selection of typical bar food here. There did not appear to be menus so we had to ask , but they do carry items such as poppers, burgers, pizza, fries and a few other less healthy options that go perfectly with your beer.

Amenities:  Jukebox , cork dart boards, electronic dart boards, Pool table, HD TV’s, pinball machine, video game machines, mega touch machine, ATM, skeeball, recliners.

Parking:  There is ample parking in the lot where the bar is located.

The Buzz:  Live music on Friday and Saturday  nights, dart tournaments, Wednesday night karaoke, daily drink specials , Monday through Friday Happy Hour .

The Tack room is the bar located inside Chippers Lanes bowling alley. If you enjoy drinking more than bowling, then this is the spot for you! It is a people watching smorgasbord of all ages and walks of life as well as a reminder that the ‘high five’ never goes out of style.

Atmosphere:  This bar is everything you expect it to be, being inside of a bowling alley. By day it is full of local retirees and by night locals of all sorts, who may or may not be there to bowl. Most patrons are friendly and some too friendly, so beware of the touchy ones when engaging in conversation. While sitting in the bar area there is the sound of bowling pins and chatter which is calming in some way. The bar itself is dark, poorly decorated and no frills, but cozy none the less. The bathroom in the bar area is small and decent or you can make your way to the bowling area to use a clean larger bathroom.

Service:  There is usually one bartender on duty who isn't very chatty but does his job, minimally. There is a server running back and forth from the bar into the bowling area to serve bowlers nonstop.

Drinks:  The bar is very basic and has 5 beers on tap, a few local and domestic. Not very large selections of liquors to choose from but the classics are all there.  If you get there during happy hour domestic beers are $3 and after 9pm $2. Not much else to say about this bar, it is in a bowling alley.

Food:  The menu contains everything expected at a bowling alley such as appetizers, pizza slices, burgers, sandwiches, salads and nachos from $3 to $7. They also have a kids menu so you can feed the kids while you grab a drink. The surprising part about the food is it is actually good, not healthy, but good.

Amenities:  Pool tables, bowling , pro shop, foosball, video games, dart boards, bar trivia, TV’s,  volleyball courts, birthday parties, patio in front.

Parking:  Chippers has its own parking lot with plenty of parking.

The Buzz:  Volleyball leagues (summer), year round bowling leagues,$1 games Sundays from 9am to 12pm,Sunday through Thursday two for one games, shoes and domestic drafts starting at 9pm, Monday through Friday Happy hour from 4 to 6pm, preschool bowling program.
