CLOSED DOWN

We have been to the Beach house on several occasions and normally visited the upstairs bar. During our last venture we sat at the bar downstairs, which felt like an entirely different place. The downstairs definitely has a more restaurant feel to it while the upstairs is more like a frat house with palm trees. This place seems to attract people of all kinds and is kid and family friendly.

Atmosphere:  This place is going for the beach bar feel in a less that beachy kind of town – that is already over populated with beach themed bars. The upstairs area sort of cheapens the place with large plastic beach chairs and various games like shuffle board, bean bag toss and ping pong. The downstairs has more of a restaurant/bar feel and the lighting seems a bit brighter than the level above. There is ample seating both upstairs and down and an outside patio that over looks College Ave. After Happy Hour and dinner, this place fills up with a college aged crowd.

Service:  The service was AMAZING as a whole. The bartenders were friendly and on top of their game when keeping our glasses full. Our food was delivered in literally minutes. We barely ordered our appetizer and it was sitting in front of us. Our meal took just a few minutes longer to receive once ordered.  However, the service upstairs doesn’t seem to be on par with the service downstairs.  If you make your way to the bar upstairs be prepared to deal with slightly confused and inattentive staff.

Drinks:  Not your average selection for beers in Fort Collins. You will see the usual suspects of domestics and local crafts but in-between are several tasty surprises.  The downstairs bar has a very nice selection of tequila and flavored rums.  We tried a double shot $3 margarita which in turn makes it $6 but well worth it and yummy. The large 24oz mugs are a very nice touch for all you beer lovers out there and are also $3 during Happy Hour.

Food:  The menu offers appetizers, lunch, dinner, catering, drinks and a kids section with junior umbrella drinks. The entrées have a tropical beach theme with lots of seafood options, burgers and tacos for around $10. We tried the guacamole and chips as a starter and it was a fresh – made – good- portion –size appetizer for $7. The Blackened Mahi Shark Bites tacos came recommended by the bartender and were delicious as  well as abundant.

Amenities:  Lot’s of HD TV’s in the downstairs bar, and a few in the upstairs bar as well, fish tanks, Free Wi-Fi, patio, Bean bag toss, Ping pong, Ring Toss,  Shuffle Board, umbrella drinks, catering and reservations.

Parking:  You will be stuck finding parking any place you can downtown.

The Buzz:  M- Thurs Bean bag toss, Ping pong, Ring Toss, Shuffle Board from open to close, Happy hour weekdays from 4 pm to 6 pm and Fri- Sat from 10 pm to close, trivia night on Sundays, They offer half off drinks at happy hour daily but I suggest you check their calendar for daily specials here -  events .
