nights seem to be popping up all over Northern Colorado and Kevin Bennett
seems to be making a name for himself. In
the process of reviewing local comedy, we
have determined it’s all subjective and funny varies from person to person, but
Kevin Bennett has something for everyone. We were lucky enough to accidentally catch
him at Hatrixx during their open mic comedy night, which appears to be a big
success on its own.
Kevin channels English and French accents with fine
precision, but without good taste and all while playing an accordion! His act
is held together by satirist stories involving marijuana, Sci-Fi characters, key-tars,
masturbation, his mom and parodies to songs like “Dust in the Wind” by Kansas
and “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi.
Kevin’s fast
paced stand up kept the crowd laughing and possibly missing parts due to
constant laughter. Although much of his
act is focused on women, most were laughing right along with the guys
regardless of offensiveness. His style is not typical stand up but entertaining
none the less and we hope to catch his act again soon.
